Case Summary

Uwais is a 2 month old baby from Bihar who needed surgery for VSD ( Ventricular Septal Defect) . It’s a hole in the wall separating the two lower chambers of heart. This was detected when the parents noticed the unnatural fast breathing. His father is an assistant to a tailor and earns a salary of Rs 5000 ($80) per month . They had travelled from Bihar to Delhi in hopes of getting him treated . He comes from a small Family trying to make ends meet.

DFY-USA with Artemis Hospital ,Gurgaon funded the surgery which approximately Rs 1.4 Lakh ($2200)out of which the family could arrange Rs 50,000 ($785).
