Case Summary
Priyanshu is a 2 year old baby boy who had a congential heart disease called PDA (patent ductus arteriosus – It is hole between two major blood vessels leading from the heart). This opening can be closed through a non-open heart catheter based procedure using a surgical equipment called Duct Occluder. The cost of this equipment was RS 38,850 ( USD 647) of which the family contributed Rs 10,000 (167). Priyanshu’s family lives in Ghaziabad Delhi and his father is a daily wage labourer. DFY USA collected $430 towards Priyanshu’s surgery. Hopefully this surgery which was done on 30th March 2015 will transform Priyanshu’s quality of life.
