Case Summary

Shivani, a 8 year old girl, has a patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) a.k.a a hole in heart. In PDA, abnormal blood flow occurs between two of the major arteries connected to the heart. Before birth, the two major arteries—the aorta and the pulmonary (PULL-mun-ary) artery—are connected by a blood vessel called the ductus arteriosus. This vessel is an essential part of fetal blood circulation. She required treatment for VSD and PDA.

Shivani comes from a poor family. Her father is daily wage laborer earning Rs 5,000 (USD 81) per month.

The cost of her procedure is about Rs 128,100 (USD 2,068) of which family will be paying Rs 50,000 (USD 807). Please help Shivani via your wishes and donations.
